SWT UF-20 ultrafiltration unit - (up to 20 m3/h)

The SWT UF-20 is an ultrafiltration unit for a flow of up to 20 m³/h. Water carrying colloidal contaminants — suspended solids, fats, non-dissolved petroleum products, proteins, large bacteria — is separated into purified and concentrated fractions at a porous membrane element under a pressure of 0.2 to 0.4 MPa. The driving force of the process is the pressure difference across the membrane: it overcomes the friction and interaction forces between the liquid and the membrane surface. The filtration fineness is 0.1 to 0.01 μm; the salt composition of the water does not change, meaning the unit removes particulates and organics but not mineralization.

In the SWT UF range, this model occupies the second tier: it is more productive than the junior UF-15 (up to 15 m³/h) and falls short of the UF-30, UF-40, UF-50, and UF-60. In terms of weight, the gap with the junior model is noticeably larger than with the next one: 400 kg versus 160 kg for the UF-15, while the UF-30 weighs 450 kg.

Purified water is supplied to the consumer, and the concentrate flows into drain; the discharge volume is 10-20% of the feed water flow and depends on the quality of the source water and the requirements for the purified water. The unit is used for standalone water supply for cottages, in municipal water treatment, and in process water preparation.
