DAF-20 flotation unit

A DAF flotation unit removes fats, oils, and light suspended solids from wastewater by pressurized flotation: air is dissolved in water under pressure, and when the pressure is released it comes out as a cloud of very fine bubbles and carries the particles to the surface. The floated layer is skimmed off by a stainless steel chain scraper, and clarified water is discharged from below.

The smaller designs in the line are intended for a local site — a workshop, a car wash, a single process line — where the effluent forms as a small flow and has to be brought to the standards for discharge into the sewer. The agitators and the scraper here have the lowest power in the line, and the piping is limited to a recirculation pump and a reagent dosing unit.

The unit is installed as a single block: the coagulation and flocculation chambers and the clarified water tank are built into the housing, so the equipment requires a minimum of floor space.

DAF-20 version: capacity 15–20 m³/h, drive power 5.5 kW, dimensions 5500×2100×2000 mm, pressurized water flow rate 8 m³/h.

By capacity it sits between DAF-15 (10–15 m³/h) and DAF-30 (20–30 m³/h): 15–20 m³/h. Pressurized water flow rate 8 m³/h against 10 m³/h on DAF-30. Drive power 5.5 kW — the same as on DAF-30.

One step down by capacity — DAF-15: dimensions 5000×2100×2000 mm instead of 5500×2100×2000 mm. One step up — DAF-30: mixer power 0.75×2 kW instead of 0.55×2 kW, scraper power 0.75 kW instead of 0.55 kW, dimensions 7000×2100×2000 mm instead of 5500×2100×2000 mm.
