DS-201 screw sludge dewaterer

The DS multi-disc screw dewaterer presses sludge in the channel between the screw shaft and a set of alternating moving and fixed rings. Sludge is fed from the flocculation chamber: the gap narrows along the screw, pressure rises, water escapes through the slots between the rings, and the cake is discharged at the end face. The rings shift relative to one another and clean the slots themselves, so there is no filter cloth here.

This is what sets the line apart from belt and chamber filter presses: the unit accepts diluted sludge directly from the aeration tank or clarifier, without a separate sludge thickener — it does not need to be built at the plant, the footprint required for the equipment is smaller, and phosphorus release is reduced. A spiral plate pre-thickens the sludge, and a solenoid valve increases the slurry concentration.

The line handles excess activated sludge, flotation sludge, mixed raw sludge, sludge after reagent treatment, and oily, low-concentration sludge. The screw rotates slowly, so energy and flush water consumption are low and operation is quiet. A cabinet with a programmable controller runs it: operation is automatic, without constant operator presence.

DS-201 design: sludge and activated sludge capacity (1.00% DS) ~12 kg DS/h (~1.2 m³/h), operating weight 470 kg, power 1.1 kW, sludge and activated sludge capacity (0.20% DS) ~8 kg DS/h (~4.0 m³/h).

By flotation sludge capacity (5.00% DS) it sits between DS-131 (~20 kg DS/h (~0.4 m³/h)) and DS-133 (~60 kg DS/h (~1.2 m³/h)): ~40 kg DS/h (~0.8 m³/h). Sludge and activated sludge capacity (0.20% DS) ~8 kg DS/h (~4.0 m³/h) — the same as on DS-132. Sludge and activated sludge capacity (1.00% DS) ~12 kg DS/h (~1.2 m³/h) — the same as on DS-132. Flotation sludge capacity (2.00% DS) ~20 kg DS/h (~1.0 m³/h) — the same as on DS-132.

One step down by flotation sludge capacity (5.00% DS) — DS-131: mixed raw sludge capacity ~26 kg DS/h (~0.87 m³/h) instead of ~52 kg DS/h (~1.73 m³/h), flush water flow rate 24 l/h instead of 32 l/h, power 0.2 kW instead of 1.1 kW. One step up — DS-133: mixed raw sludge capacity ~72 kg DS/h (~2.61 m³/h) instead of ~52 kg DS/h (~1.73 m³/h), flush water flow rate 72 l/h instead of 32 l/h, power 0.4 kW instead of 1.1 kW.
